Background information:

Wasteland Ski started life in 1992 with the sole aim of making Frances premier resorts easily affordable for Uk students and providing them with a more “In tune” attitude towards their trip and. 15 years later and we are still the Uk’s leading student winter sports operator but as with all growing businesses we have also diversified to meet demand and now enjoy success with chalets and apartments for smaller groups as well as running a successful events arm. As a general rule our client base is largely from the 18-35 age bracket so great emphasis is placed on value as well as nightlife and having a good time. This in turn translates into staff that need to be able to work hard and play hard and who’s positive attitude and energy makes a Wasteland trip one to remember.

To add depth and weight to our product we’ve also been fortunate enough to hook up with Sportura, a leading Dutch tour op which shares a very similar company ethos to ourselves. The marriage of both companies gives us a fantastic platform from which to grow and we have the added advantage of being able to add their 8 Yeti bars into the entertainment mix for clients. The bars are there for one purpose and one purpose alone, having a bloody good time so the combination of great value skiing, young energetic staff, a continual commitment to quality, our own bars and a “can do” attitude, make us a tough outfit to beat.

Job opportunities 08/09 season

Wasteland Ski and Sportura / Yeti are on the hunt for a whole variety of staff positions for the coming season, both full and part time. We need bright, energetic and enthusiastic people to help implement our vision and drive us onwards and upwards. You will need to be engaging, organised, disciplined, motivated and able to operate within a team environment. Hard working is obviously a pre-requisite but a good attitude and ability to muck in and get your hands dirty is equally important. The reality of working in the Alps is hard work and some long hours but the rewards of working as part of a great team, camaraderie, seeing the clients have a great time, friendship, being in the mountains and making things happen, far out weigh the negatives. Age wise our ideal staff will be aged between 20-30 and be able to speak good English. Other useful skills that will help are being able to speak French, being able to ski or snowboard or previous experience of the resorts we operate out of, however the most important thing is to be genuine and fun!
